Lunch Meeting: AN OVERVIEW OF LAND USE PLANNING IN FREDERICK COUNTY WITH A FOCUS ON THE UPDATE OF THE MONOCACY RIVER MANAGEMENT PLAN

About the Speaker:

Tim Goodfellow has been a public sector land-use planner for over 20 years, and has his American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification from the American Planning Association. Mr. Goodfellow has experience in a variety of land use domains, including comprehensive planning, zoning code enforcement, subdivision and development review, and environmental planning activities in his capacity as a Principal Planner in Frederick County’s Division of Planning and Permitting.

One of Mr. Goodfellow’s duties is providing staffing to the Monocacy Scenic River Citizens’ Advisory Board (River Board), a body created after the Monocacy River was officially designated a Scenic River by the State of Maryland in 1974. Mr. Goodfellow has a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a M.S. degree in Environmental Biology from Hood College, where his research focused on agricultural impacts to aquatic systems.    Mr. Goodfellow is an avid runner, and has participated in over 50 running races, including completing 3 marathons.

 Program:

 Mr. Goodfellow will speak generally about land use planning in Frederick County and discuss the River Board’s update to the 1990 Monocacy River Study and Management Plan.  

 Each attendee will receive 1.0 Professional Development Hour
